My company already has Single Sign-On into our Model N production applications. Is this being affected?

Not at all!  You will continue to access your Model N software the way you do today. Plus you will have a separate log-in for MN CSP. The MN Customer Success Portal is focused entirely on simplifying access to the supporting applications, as noted above.

Why is this new portal better?

  • Security. - The MN Customer Success Portal is built using industry leading Single Sign On technology, Okta, making access more secure and private.

  • Self-service - If you forget your password, you can reset it yourself, in real-time.

  • Unified - You will be able to follow links across the Model N systems without stopping to authenticate separately for each application.

How do I get set up with Model N Customer Success Portal ?

To sign up, you must find the Invitation email with Subject line “Welcome to your MN Customer Success Portal” and click the ACTIVATE button. Then follow the prompts to set up your account. Okta walks you through it!

What specifically happens during my set-up process?

You will continue to use your work email as your username. However you will choose a new password.

Then you will set up at least one more method of authentication for logging in, resetting passwords, etc.

Options:

  • OktaVerify (using Okta app on your phone)

  • Text message (SMS) to your phone which provides a one-time use passcode.

Once I set it up, how do I use it?

You can access links to all Model N CSP applications in a single dashboard by going to https://cis.okta.com . Simply log in, then click the application tile you need!

If you click a link from your Model N work application to one of these systems, you will authenticate with your Model N CSP account as usual, and then be taken directly to the linked destination. If you click a link from one application directly to another (or from a browser bookmark), you won't need to re-authenticate, unless your session ended.

You can still click the direct links you use today. When you click a direct link to log in, you'll see the Model N CSP Okta login widget and you'll use your new work email, password, and second authentication method that you chose.  If you forget your password, Model N CSP will allow you to set a new password, no waiting.

Am I required to use the new MN CSP to access these applications?

Yes!  There will be a brief transition period where you may still be able to use your old credentials depending on the application, but by end of July, we will cut over and you must use your Model N CSP login.

Does this affect how I access my Model N production applications?

No, your Model N CSP account is only used for the supporting systems.

Can my company extend their Model N SSO to the CSP applications?

Yes, this is possible, but not right away. Customers who have SSO from their corporate network IDP to their Model N applications DO potentially have the option to swap in their own IDP instead of the Customer Okta that Model N provides. If your company is able to do that, then your company users will truly have one login for seamless access to all that Model N provides to your company. We expect many Model N customers to take advantage of this new capability, for full control over their user management. But the ultimate solution will depend on the customer’s existing IDP, and integrations will vary.

What if there is an application I need, but I don't see it in my MN Customer Success Portal?

For now, please follow the existing processes to request access (working with your Model N project or support team), or send an email to mncsp@modeln.com

What is Single Sign-On (SSO)?

Single Sign-On (SSO) is a system that allows users to securely authenticate and access multiple applications or services with a single set of credentials (username and password). The SSO technology solution provider we are using for MN CSP is Okta, an industry leader in security and managing online identities. In fact, Model N uses Okta for managing all our employee applications. Maybe your company does too!  This link provides more information about Okta.

How does SSO improve security?

SSO improves security by integrating multi-factor authentication (MFA) through Okta, our identity management partner. MFA adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that even if your password is compromised, unauthorized access is prevented.

Will I need to remember additional passwords for applications in the Customer Success Portal?

No, you will only need to remember one set of credentials (username and password) to access all of the CSP applications.

Can I use the MN Customer Success Portal (and the applications themselves) on a mobile device?

Yes, the CSP is compatible with both desktop and mobile devices, providing you with seamless access to Model N's services regardless of your preferred device.

Will using the Customer Success Portal affect my existing access permissions and settings?

No, doing so will not affect your existing access permissions or settings in your existing accounts (Helpcenter, Learning Library, JSM etc.). The only change will be regarding the process of logging in.

Is there any training available for using MN Customer Success Portal?

Yes, we will provide guidance as well as documentation to help you smoothly transition to using MN CSP. Also, our support team can help you with any questions or concerns.
